Effective Board Retreats

Board retreats are often a waste of time and energy—daunting and unachievable strategic plans are developed and then abandoned shortly after. I will help you run an effective one or two-day board retreat to determine what you’re doing right, what your members want and don’t care about, and what the next 12 months should look like.

Management Transition

When it comes to recruiting new executive management, many people have no idea what they’re  looking for or what options are out there. I will meet with the board and leadership team to help  identify, interview, and hire an outstanding candidate and ensure that the transition process is as smooth and beneficial as possible.

If you feel like you’re struggling to keep your head above water, it might be time for some association boot camp training. About Us

Beverly Lynch enjoys a 34+ year career working in all aspects of association management and lobbying. In March, 2015, she was named President of the Food Industry Association Executives, a national professional association representing local, state and regional food association executives since 1927, who, in turn, represent over 95 percent of the grocery retail industry. FIAE's mission is to provide a forum for professional growth of the members' employees and to serve as a vehicle for the interchange of ideas and advancement of the food industry agenda.
In January, 2019, Bev was appointed Executive Director of the Council of State Retail Associations (CSRA).  The Council of State Retail Associations acts as a portal for communications between all state retail associations across the country primarily concerning state legislation and regulations affecting the retail industry. CSRA helps state retail associations better serve their members. By creating opportunities for state retail associations to share legislative successes, strategies, potential coalition members, and arguments to defeat or pass legislation, retailers can feel confident that their state retail association will be armed with information to help key policy and decision-makers pass supportive legislation on behalf of the retail industry.
Previously she was a principal of the Advocacy and Management Group (AMG), headquartered in Trenton, NJ. AMG was formed in 2011, when she merged her company - B. Lynch Associates – with The Advocacy Group. B. Lynch Associates was established in 2002 as a full service management and lobbying firm – offering personalized, pro-active services to professional societies, corporations and non-profit agencies.

Her previous experience includes eight years with the lobbying firm Martin-Bontempo, Inc. (now MBI Gluck Shaw). During her tenure at Martin-Bontempo, she served as the Executive Director of three state-based associations and lobbyist for numerous clients, including GPU Energy, the Medical Society of New Jersey, New Jersey Breathes, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, and five medical specialty associations.

Previously, she was Director of Communications and Government Relations for the New Jersey Department of Commerce and Economic Development.

From 1987 to 1992, Bev served as the Vice President of the New Jersey Food Council, performing all aspects of association management, including legislative and regulatory advocacy, events coordination, communications and public relations.

She was Director of Office Administration for the Center for Claims Resolution, Princeton, NJ, and Director, Conventions and Meetings for the National Grocers Association, Reston, Virginia.
She is a past president of the YWCA of Trenton, a multi-cultural social services agency and served on the Board of Directors of Gilda’s House in Warminster, PA. She holds degrees from Notre Dame University of Maryland and Stevenson University, both in Baltimore, Maryland.
